I've been canning applesauce in quart size jars, but the kids keep eating it as fast as it's made!
lokiwomanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07822336172460042870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6449139792558708537.post-22384902785584107892012-10-16T16:27:44.539-04:002012-10-16T16:27:44.539-04:00Hey Tree. There are probably about a million different ways to make hard cider but we find that this one is the easiest and it doesn't take that much time.
1 gallon apple cider
1 gallon of organic apple juice
2 cups of sugar
6 cinnamon sticks
5 th of ever clear liquor
Now I've done this recipe with sugar and without. It all depends on your taste. Bring the cider and juice to a boil. Add sugar stir till its dissolved. Add your cinnamon sticks. You don't have to use all the cinnamon sticks just depends on your taste. Bring that down to a low simmer for about an hour. Remove from heat you can put it over an ice bath or just let it sit till its at room temp. Then add your liquor as much or as little.( we use it all. Lol). Pour it into 2 glass gallon jugs. Chill and serve. You can serve it that day, we usually let it chill for about 3 days in the fridge. I have also done thus recipe without boiling anything either. I don't suggest you do that unless you are going to drink as soon as you make it. But either way it taste great. Hope you have fun. Let me know how it turns out.
